This 77-Year-Old Grandmother Can Deadlift 215 Pounds (Yes, POUNDS)

If you've ever thought that going after a tough fitness goal like lifting heavier weights or running a race seemed too daunting to try, you need to know the words 77-year-old competitive power lifter Willie Murphy lives by: "I never use the words 'I can't'; I simply say, 'I will try,'" Willie told USA Today.  "That's the way I live my life, just trying to do my best every day."
The grandmother started lifting weights four years ago to get an edge while competing in senior's track and field, she explains in a USA Today video. Willie began with five-pound weights and continued progressing, little by little. "When the gun went off, boom, I dusted those ladies," she told USA Today. And she's continued to get stronger ever since. Today, she says in the USA Today video, she deadlifts 215 pounds in competition. (For the record, that's more than twice her weight—she only weighs 105!) She also does one-handed pullups and pushups and other crazy-amazing feats of strength.
